“I HATE EXERCISE!”
I said forcefully while walking down Ocean Drive, trying to wrap my mind around moving faster than a snail. I thought to myself, “but it is good for my physical and emotional health,” so I asked God to help me find SOMETHING to make it tolerable!
He did not fail me. My walk (and brief jogs to up my heart rate) was filled with inspiration! AGAIN!
Light and Shadow
The 30 minutes stretched to 40 as I saw beautiful things to help me on my creative journey as well as my exercise trek.
But here’s the most amazing part:
At the beginning of the summer, I was very out of shape. So out of shape that I couldn’t walk for more than 10 minutes without my body screaming at me to stop! My breath control was terrible and my heart and lungs uncooperative. I switched from walking in the air to walking in a pool. With gravity lessened, I could walk for 20 minutes, then 25 and now 30. I periodically tried walking in air again. Each time I did, I was able to increase my time and (thankfully) noticed a decrease in the screaming. My heart and lungs gained in endurance as well. Today I not only walked for 30-40 minutes (yes, I did stop to “smell the roses” now and then). I was also able to 5 times “pick up my pace” and walk/jog for 1 minute at a time! I’m SO STOKED!
